I am so proud of our students, staff, and teachers for their dedication and hard work during benchmark testing. To ensure a focused and serious testing environment, our campus was closed on these days, and I am pleased to share that our preliminary results are trending in a positive direction!
As we continue this important work, our Algebra I benchmark is scheduled for Tuesday, and we will follow the same procedures to maintain a secure and distraction-free testing environment. Please remind your child of the importance of arriving at school on time and getting to class promptly. We have been conducting tardy sweeps to emphasize the importance of being present and engaged in learning.
Additionally, I want to reinforce that during school hours, our device policies, ID expectations, and other campus procedures will continue to be strictly enforced. These policies are in place to create a safe and productive learning environment for all students. Together, we will make Terry an A-rated campus!
As a reminder, if you ever need assistance, the contact information for all administrators is listed below. Also, the district has sent out the annual climate survey, and because we are always striving to improve, I would greatly appreciate your feedback.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership!

The Climate Survey will be open February 3 to February 28, 2025. This survey is an essential tool for gathering valuable feedback from our parents/guardians, staff, and students in grades 5-12. We encourage our Lamar CISD community to participate by completing the survey sent in an email by K12 Insight to all district parents/guardians and staff. Families with students in more than one school may submit a response for another student after the first survey response is completed. This survey is also an essential tool for gathering valuable feedback from our students in grades 5-12. The survey will be accessible via ClassLink, and students will take the survey during school hours. Please note that your feedback is confidential, and reports will not identify individuals. The survey will be available from February 3 until February 28. After the survey closes, the report will be posted on the Lamar CISD website.

Ranger of the Week 2-10-25
Congratulations to Naveen Mireles for being our Ranger of the Week! Naveen was nominated for academic and behavior achievements by her teacher, Ms. Washington. Ms. Washington states, "Naveen is a joy to have in class. She is dedicated to her schoolwork while also being a student athlete in Volleyball and Softball. She is also an amazing peer to her classmates. Whenever someone says they are confused, before I can even get to them, Naveen is already helping. She goes above and beyond for her Terry High School community and does so with a huge smile on her face."

At Terry High School, learning is our top priority. We're dedicated to fostering a safe and supportive environment that helps every student thrive. As we start the 2024-25 school year, we want to remind you that we're all in this together. Clear communication about our policies and expectations is crucial to maintaining the positive, productive atmosphere we aim to create.
Your support in reinforcing these guidelines at home ensures that our students understand and prioritize their education. Let's work together to keep our focus on what matters most: the success and well-being of our students.
Below you will find our tele-communication policy for the 2024-25 school year. Additional information may be found in the LCISD Student Code of Conduct.
All devices must remain in student backpacks for the duration of the day.
The duration of the day is from the first bell (8:25 AM) to the last bell (3:50 PM). Before the 8:25 am bell, students may only use cell phones in the cafeteria and small gym. No cell phones allowed in the hall before 8:25 am or during transitions throughout the day.
Students will be allowed to take out and use their devices during breakfast in the cafeteria or gym and at lunch only (unless otherwise directed by administration).
Teachers also have discretion to allow device use in class for instruction purposes only.
Electronic Device Policy Continued
Students who fail to align with campus expectations for telecommunication devices will face the following consequences:
1st Offense – Parent Contact, Phone confiscated and returned at end of day.
2nd Offense – Parent Contact, Phone confiscated, and parent must retrieve phone with a $15 fee.
3rd Offense – Parent Contact, Phone confiscated, parent must retrieve phone with a $15 fee, and student is assigned ISS.
4th Offense - Parent Contact, Phone confiscated, parent must retrieve phone with a $15 fee, and student is suspended.
5th Offense - Parent Contact, Phone confiscated, parent must retrieve phone with a $15 fee, and student is recommended to attend ALC.
Although we're starting a new academic year, the emphasis of students being in class, on time, has not changed. I want to emphasize the crucial role of consistent attendance in our students' educational journey. Every class, every minute counts towards your success, and being present and on time is key to making the most of your learning opportunities.
Our goal is to support each of you in reaching your full potential. To achieve this, it’s important that students arrive to class on time and are fully engaged. We understand that sometimes delays happen, but minimizing unexcused tardies continues to be a priority.
Please familiarize yourselves with our tardy policy and let’s work together to create an environment where every student can thrive. Your dedication to attending classes regularly and punctually will help ensure a successful and rewarding school year for all.
THS is a Closed Campus!
Terry High School is a closed campus. Scholars must remain on campus from the start of school until the end of school. Scholars are not permitted to leave campus for lunch.
We will not permit scholars to receive outside lunch delivered from delivery services such as Uber Eats, Grub Hub, Door Dash, etc.
This is for the protection of all of our scholars. We cannot have fast food delivery drivers looking for scholar on campus. If food is delivered to campus, we will refuse to accept it.
We welcome you to come and eat lunch with your scholar. Please contact your scholar’s grade level administrator at least 24 hours in advance and ensure you are prepared with the proper identification to receive a visitor’s pass. You will need your ID or Driver’s License. Please only bring lunch for your scholar.
Only visitors who are listed on the students emergency contacts are able to drop off food items for students.
Student Parking
Parking on campus is a privilege, not a right. To park on school grounds, students must complete a parking application, provide necessary documentation, pay for a parking pass, and ensure the pass is visibly displayed in their vehicle.
Failure to meet these requirements could result in the loss of parking privileges. Please remember, safety is our top priority, and adherence to these guidelines helps us maintain a secure and orderly environment.
Student Drop Off
Student Drop Off
To enhance safety and ensure smooth access for emergency personnel, we’ve made important updates to our student pick-up and drop-off procedures. Changes have been made to improve traffic flow and safety in the parking lot. Look for new signage and refer to the parking lot diagram below for guidance on the updated gate and traffic patterns.
We appreciate your cooperation with these necessary changes and ask that you adhere to school hours to prevent any tardiness. Thank you for helping us create a safer environment for our Rangers!
