Welcome Back, Rangers!

We are excited to welcome students and families back for another great year at Terry High School. We hold high expectations for every Ranger because we know our students are capable of achieving extraordinary things.

At Terry, we don't just strive for greatness. We are great.

Greatness is found in the choices we make every day: showing up, working hard, being accountable, and supporting one another.

Texas College Free Tuition Programs

Many Texas colleges and universities offer free tuition programs for eligible students. Most programs require students to:

  • Be a Texas resident
  • Be admitted to the university
  • Submit the FAFSA or TASFA by required deadlines
  • Meet income and/or academic eligibility requirements
Programs are available at universities including Texas A&M, UT Austin, UT Arlington, UTSA, Texas Tech, University of Houston, Rice, Sam Houston State, Lamar, Tarleton State, Stephen F. Austin, and many others. Students should review each university's requirements and deadlines, as funding may be limited.

  • Opens: August 11 at 11:00 a.m.
  • Closes: August 14 at 7:00 p.m.
✅ How to Submit
  • Complete the Microsoft Form during the request window.
  • Requests will not be accepted by email, phone, or in person.
⚠️ Important
  • Submitting a request does not guarantee a schedule change.
  • Schedules are not final until the first day of school and may change due to staffing, enrollment, balancing, or other campus needs.
Schedule Changes May Be Approved For:
  • Graduation requirement needed
  • Credit already earned for a scheduled course
  • Missing prerequisite
  • Previously failed a course with the same teacher
  • Dismissal from a program requiring a new placement
  • Incomplete schedule
  • Scheduling/data errors (missing lunch, duplicate class, free period, etc.)
⏰ Deadline Reminder All requests must be submitted by 7:00 p.m. on August 14. No exceptions.

Beginning-of-year forms for all Lamar CISD students must be completed online through Skyward Family Access.


  • Forms open July 27 and must be submitted by September 11.
  • Student schedules will not be available until:
  • All online forms have been completed, and
  • The campus has released schedules.
  • Students with completed forms can view their schedules beginning August 3.

✅ Don't wait! Complete your forms as soon as they open on July 27 to ensure timely access to your student's schedule and a smooth start to the school year.

Dress Code

Dress Code At a Glance

✅ Wear your student ID and keep it visible at all times.
✅ Hoodies are allowed, but hoods cannot be worn on your head inside the building.
✅ Shirts must be school-appropriate in length, language, and design.
✅ Shorts, skirts, and pants must be an appropriate length.
✅ Slides and Crocs are permitted.
❌ No slippers, house shoes, or shower shoes.

Tardy Policy

⏰ THS Tardy Policy at a Glance

  • 5 tardies: Administrator conference
  • 10 tardies: Attendance/behavior contract
  • 15 tardies: Saturday School
  • 20 tardies: 3 days ISS
  • 25 tardies: 3 days OSS
⚠️ Consequences increase as tardies accumulate. Attendance and punctuality matter!

Transportation

🚌 Transportation Deadlines

Families requesting bus transportation should be aware of the following deadlines:
✅ To Ride the Bus on the First Day of School
Submit the transportation request form by August 2.

⚠️ Missed the August 2 Deadline?
Students whose forms are submitted after August 2 will not receive bus transportation until August 24.
📅 Forms Submitted August 3–21
Transportation for these students will begin on August 24.

🔄 Transportation Changes
After August 21, families should contact their student's campus to request transportation changes.
Please note that transportation changes requested after August 21 may take up to five business days to take effect.
